Hemp Gen is committed to growing and processing premium quality hemp products, including hemp extract and oils, and hemp products with a focus on the growth and promotion of minority-owned agronomy and retention of African-American heir property.

Hemp Gen was started in Williamston, North Carolina under the Industrial Hemp Pilot Program through North Carolina State University and North Carolina A&T University. Using family land, the first crop was cultivated and planted in spring 2018 and processing began during the fall of the same year.

Hemp Gen, based in Martin County, North Carolina, will employ and contract local employees and businesses in an effort to support the local economy.

Hemp Gen will foster a culture of safety for all employees, contractors and operating partners. All Hemp Gen products will be generated with an end-user-first focus to promote the full benefits of Hemp Gen cannabis products.


Hemp Gen will work with African-American farmers and land-owners to create a sustainable revenue stream which will allow retention of family and heir property.
